The Good Turn Habit on the part of thousands upon thousands of boys the whole country over makes possible concerted action on some great National Service.
As a National Movement the Boy Scouts of America have in the past years rendered many specific National Good Turns of great consequence and are now in their very existence rendering much service of a National character that is invaluable.
The point is see that YOUR group too has a part in these great National tasks as a part of your Good Turn Education.
During the war Scouts rendered notable service to the Government by selling Liberty Bonds and Savings Stamps, locating black walnut for aeroplanes. In 1925, a splendid National Good Turn was the "get out the vote" campaign.
Here are a few suggestions:
 | Help in every possible way on election days, both in getting out the vote and in the great detail of elections. |
| Safety First efforts of all kinds have a National significance. |
| One of the greatest problems confronting our country is the preservation of its forests. The original forestry areas of 822,000,000 acres have been reduced to about 463,000,000. Three-fifths of the timber originally in the United States is gone. In the five years 1916-1920, there were 160,000 forest fires that burned over more than 56,000,000 acres of forest, caused the death of hundreds of people and destruction of homes and wild animals. Enormous quantities of timber are cut for necessary commercial purposes, and the great problem is to keep the forests renewed by new plantings and to prevent their waste by fire. By carrying on a national educational campaign for conservation, by setting out trees and promoting forestry projects, Scouts can render a wonderful National service. |

| The conservation and protection of bird and wild life--making National census. |
| Extermination of obnoxious weeds. |
| Planting memorial trees. |
