One of the duties of a Pathfinder or Scout, is to be able to give
clear, concise directions to people who ask for help. Most people these days expect
a Pathfinder or Scout to be able to guide them, at least
within a mile or kilometer of your home and school.
You should be able to give
directions to all of the following places:
police station
hospital
bus station
library
fire department
post office
airport
heliport
elementary and high schools
railway station
You should know the names of the main streets in your town and how to get to
them. You should know the main road or highway that leads out of town.
A well trained Pathfinder or Scout should be able to draw a sketch map of
their community. It should be accurate enough to guide a
stranger in your town.
