The Pilgrimage of Philadelphia Council to the Lincoln Statue in Fairmount Park

The Philadelphia Boy Scouts, 1500 strong, made a pilgrimage to Lincoln Memorial Statue in Fairmount Park on the afternoon of Lincoln's Birthday, February 11th, at 2:30 PM
The Chairman of the Philadelphia Scout Council addressed the Scouts on Lincoln, following which there were various patriotic exercises. These were held in the out of doors at the Lemon Hill Pavilion while the snow fell.
The ten Scout Districts formed and paraded, headed by the Troop 3 Band of Philadelphia, with the American, City and Scout Flags. Each District was preceded by the American Colors. At the Statue a tremendous wreath of laurel was placed on which was a ribbon bearing "The Boy Scout Laws," and, as each District came up to the Statue, Scouts, acting as wreath bearers, attached a smaller wreath to the larger one; each of the smaller wreaths bore a Scout Law written on the ribbon, until finally all the Scout Laws were placed on the larger wreath.
The War Mothers were at the Monument at the time and a motion picture photographer and operator took a number of pictures. From the Statue, the Scouts paraded to Moose Hall.
